Doctors warn: These are the side effects that can occur if you eat too much bread
Although it is a very accessible and popular food without which most people hardly have a meal, doctors warn that excessive consumption of bread can lead to several undesirable consequences for our health.
Weight gain
A high intake of simple carbohydrates, such as pre-made white bread, can primarily lead to weight gain, i.e., unwanted weight gain.
Increased risk of diabetes
Also, experts warn that excessive bread consumption leads to an increased risk of diabetes. Namely, foods containing carbohydrates, such as bread, cause an increase in blood sugar. High blood sugar levels can lead to even more harmful outcomes such as heart disease, vision loss, and kidney disease, which is why it is crucial to keep blood sugar levels under control.
Skin problems
In addition to weight gain and a higher risk of diabetes, if we eat too much bread, we could have problems with the health of our skin. Researchers have discovered that the intake of food with a high glycemic index, which white bread specifically is, worsens the condition of our skin and leads to the formation of pimples or acne.
Prison
Digestive problems are another side effect of excessive bread consumption. As doctors explain, an insufficient intake of fiber can lead to disruptions in the functioning of the digestive system, which, among other things, results in constipation.
