SAFETY MANAGER (Based in Chicago, IL)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct driver hiring and compliance process in order to ensure safe and efficient service

Conduct inspections, qualification and set up on drivers, company equipment and contractor’s vehicles

Conduct drug and alcohol testing program and maintain all files related to this issues

Coordinate compliance and all trainings related to DOT regulations and maintain all files related to this issues

Represent Company in case of DOT compliance review

Provides all safety related trainings to drivers and dispatchers and maintain all files related to this issues

Monitor all FMCSA scores, create reports and keep all files related to this issue

Conduct drivers fines and rewards program

Review of all paper logs

Coordinate all issues related to Insurance policy and all insurance related claims

Provides various reports and analyzes safety trends

WORK EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS

1+ years of working experience in trucking company (previous experience on safety position is desirable but not essential)
High school education
Excellent decision making ability and judgment
Sharing, positive and energetic team player
Open, enthusiastic, full of energy
Experience working with outside agencies (State DOT agencies, local government, law enforcement, etc)
Must have good knowledge of DOT and other agency regulations.
Demonstrate good understanding of key safety principles in the transportation industry
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and using the Internet
