Twitter will soon summon Musk to testify

Twitter is preparing to summon Elon Musk to testify on September 26 and 27 regarding the company's $44 billion acquisition deal, according to a court document in the case.

News of Musk's statement come after Twitter co-founder and former CEO Jack Dorsey answered questions from the company's lawyers and Musk's legal team, CNN reports.

Earlier this month, a judge ruled that the billionaire could supplement his case claims based on the disclosures of whistleblower Zatko, the former head of security at Twitter, who accuses the company of serious security flaws that put its clients at risk.

Twitter stated that Zatko's claims promote a „false narrative“ about the company and that Musk's claims are „factually inaccurate, legally insufficient and commercially irrelevant.“.

A judge has rejected Elon Musk's request to postpone the trial against Twitter following the whistleblower's disclosures, and Musk's lawyers are expanding their case against Twitter.

As a reminder, Musk tried to terminate the acquisition agreement, stating that Twitter had misled him regarding the size of the user base, as well as the number of bots and spam accounts.

Twitter rejected such accusations by Musk and sued him in a Delaware court.

Musk subsequently filed a countersuit.

The two sides will begin a five-day trial on October 17, and the judge will decide then whether Musk must buy the company or not.
