Scorching temperatures, storms, and a „ring of fire“: Extreme weather conditions in Chicago before a sharp cool-down

Residents of Chicago will face extreme weather conditions before the city is hit by a sudden temperature drop of as much as 10 degrees Celsius.
Before the long-awaited refreshment arrives, meteorologists announce high temperatures, dangerous humidity, severe storms, and an unusual weather phenomenon known as the “Ring of Fire”.
A high temperature warning for the entire Chicago area takes effect on Monday, July 28 at noon. The temperature is expected to reach around 35°C, while the heat index due to high humidity could feel as high as 43°C. This is a so-called „heat dome“—a heat dome—covering the central parts of the US, with Chicago located on its eastern edge.
NBC 5 meteorologists announce that local showers and storms are possible during the morning and evening, especially in the areas of Kankakee, McHenry, Lake, DuPage, and Cook County. Wind in these zones can reach speeds of up to 65 km/h, and heavy rainfall is also expected, which may cause localized flooding.
Although the storms will temporarily weaken, a new wave of severe weather is possible as early as Wednesday evening, July 30. However, good news arrives on Tuesday evening, July 29, when a cold front brings refreshment – temperatures will drop to around 21–26°C, accompanied by lower humidity and more pleasant weather through the end of the week.
