CTA and PACE will issue joint passes
Transit agencies CTA and PACE are creating a joint pass. The agencies announced on Wednesday, September 14, that early next year they will offer citizens one-day, three-day, seven-day, and monthly passes. Citizens will be able to use these passes seamlessly across both transit systems.
CTA 1-day and 3-day passes will be valid for use on Pace. CTA will combine two 7-day passes into one valid for both agencies for $ 20, thereby enabling better connectivity between the two transit systems.
Four joint passes will keep their current price. The price of a one-day ticket is $5; three days $15; seven days $20; and a monthly ticket is $75. The current surcharge of $5 for the joint seven-day pass will be eliminated.
CTA and Pace will subsequently inform employees and citizens about the date this decision enters into force. „This initiative is our way of adapting to the needs of citizens. The decision was created to make traveling on one or all of our transit systems even more practical, accessible, and seamless,“ CTA President Dorval Carter said in a press release.
„We look forward to partnering with CTA. These joint changes will create new opportunities for employment, education, and essential services across the region,“ said Pace Executive Director Melinda Metzger.
