Chicago: When does the Christkindlmarket close?
One of the most popular Christmas attractions in Chicago is the Christkindlmarket. The German-style holiday market offers visitors the chance to shop for handmade goods and try international food while listening to festive tunes. If you wanted to visit the market this season as well, you must do it quickly because this holiday attraction is closing soon.
The market at the Daley Plaza location closes on Christmas Eve, as does the Aurora location. The Daley Plaza Christkindlmarket is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time Sunday through Thursday, and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. local time on Friday and Saturday. On Christmas Eve, the market will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. local time.
Christkindlmarket in Aurora at RiverEdge Park is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time on Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. local time on Friday, and on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Christmas Eve, the market will have reduced hours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. local time.
If you can visit this holiday attraction only after Christmas, there is another option. The Christkindlmarket at Gallagher Way is open until New Year's:
- Monday to Thursday: 3 PM to 9 PM local time;
- From Friday to Saturday: 11 AM to 10 PM local time;
- Sunday: from 11 AM to 7 PM local time;
- Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve: from 11 AM to 4 PM local time;
- Christmas: closed;
- December 26-29: from 11 AM to 9 PM local time.
