The most serious illness associated with high temperatures, heat stroke, can cause permanent disability or death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, heat stroke occurs when the human body cannot control its own temperature. In the case of heat stroke, a person's body temperature can rise within 15 minutes.

Symptoms of heat stroke are:

  • Confusion, slurred speech
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Dry skin and heavy sweating
  • Very high body temperature.

„Heat stroke is a very serious condition and can quickly become fatal if left untreated. The most important thing citizens can do is to pay attention to the symptoms of heat stroke. Heat exhaustion occurs when the human body cannot cool itself down through sweating. Symptoms of heat exhaustion include muscle cramps, headache, dizziness, fatigue, nausea, and vomiting.

Babies, children, and the elderly are a high-risk group for heat-related illnesses. In the event of an elevated body temperature, citizens are advised to try lowering their body temperature through rehydration, immersion in a cold water tub, and applying ice packs to the neck and armpits.
