According to a recent study conducted by Clever Real Estate, Tampa in Florida has been chosen as the most desirable city to live in the United States. The survey included 1,000 Americans, and as many as 23% of the respondents voted for this city known for its tropical climate, beautiful beaches, and rich cultural scene. Besides Tampa, Florida boasts two more cities in the top ten—Orlando in fifth and Miami in tenth place.

This research showed that respondents value cities that offer a low crime rate, affordable cost of living, pleasant climate, low taxes, and diverse outdoor activities.

Other important factors were natural beauty, low probability of natural disasters, quality infrastructure, good schools, pedestrian accessibility, and efficient public transport. The political climate, employment opportunities, and population diversity also played an important role in the ranking.

Tampa, which was in tenth place in 2002, took first place this year thanks to all these factors. Respondents specifically highlighted the low crime rate and pleasant climate as key reasons for choosing this city.

Charlotte in North Carolina took second place on the list, while Virginia Beach in Virginia took third place. These three cities stood out as the most desirable destinations to live in America in 2024.
