We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Safety Specialist to join our growing transportation team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to play a key role in keeping our fleet compliant with FMCSA and DOT regulations.<\/p>\n
As a Safety Specialist, you will support our Safety and Compliance Department by ensuring our drivers, equipment, and documentation meet all regulatory requirements while helping maintain efficient day-to-day operations.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities:
\nPrepare and process trucking permits and registrations.
\nMaintain truck and driver compliance binders.
\nConduct new driver orientation and onboarding.
\nProcess pre-employment applications and required documentation.
\nCoordinate pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug & alcohol testing.
\nAssist with IFTA reporting and fuel tax documentation.
\nMonitor driver qualification files and ensure compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations.
\nTrack CDL licenses, medical certificates, annual MVRs, and other required compliance documents.
\nAssist with vehicle registrations, license plates, IRP, and other fleet documentation.
\nSupport safety audits and maintain organized compliance records.
\nWork with dispatch, maintenance, recruiting, and management to ensure operational compliance.
\nAssist with safety investigations, violations, inspections, and
\ncorrective action follow-up.
\nPerform additional administrative and compliance duties as assigned.
\nQualifications:
\nPrevious experience in trucking safety, compliance, or transportation administration is preferred.
\nKnowledge of FMCSA, DOT, IFTA, IRP, and driver qualification requirements is a plus.
\nStrong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
\nAbility to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
\nExcellent communication and problem-solving skills.
\nProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
\nExperience with transportation management or fleet software is an advantage.
